Room was large as was the bathroom. Security was good as you had to ring the owner to buzz yourself in. Owner was pleasant.
The location was misrepresented as it was a long walk and many many stairs to reach the main piazza. Also the room had 2 small windows close to the ceiling so that one felt quite claustrophobic and somewhat trapped in the room. Every sound from upstairs, the nearby rooms and the metal banging from the auto garage in the next building caused irritation. Parking on the street seemed a bit hazardous.

The room was extremely quiet despite the B&B's location on a busy road. The proprietor was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. It was good to be able to walk into town in just a few minutes.

The hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast contains many local and family made products (the best peach preserves I have ever had in my life, as a matter of fact). The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Caltagirone is a wonderful hilltown and if you can make it there I doubt there is a better place to stay than Girosa. And if you plan on making Caltagirone just a day trip or just to see the stairs, I'd say stay at least one night so you can watch the sunset and see the town at night.

Got great local advice, free wi fi which is a must for us.
Breakfast perhaps needs to cater for non Italians although a lot of effort went into it.

We stayed at appartment at the top of the famous steps and found it central to our needs.Free parking close by seemed to be safe. Had to wait almost 30 mins. for Rapheal to arrive in white MPV for acces to hotel but he and his wife were very friendly.
Breakfast '' ingredients '' were coffee and sugar only.

Warm and friendly greeting, warm rooms! (I visted in winter but in Summer I am sure it will be cool), very helpful hosts with a bookshelf of books in case you need more tourist info. I especially liked the home made jams and biscotti in the morning. Very thoughful hosts, thank you. Also equi-distant from the old town and ceramic museum.
